SPIRITUAL CONSTIPATION AND ITS CURE.

Constipation in the biological sense, is the inability to empty the bowel. In the light of the above, Spiritual Constipation is therefore define as thus; the inability to express visibly, the  rich contents (spiritual blessings), we have in Christ Jesus, [ embedded in our recreated spirit man]; into our body (flesh) and external world (circumstances).

For the sake of this study, the spiritual bowel represents the recreated spirit in Christ, [the New Man] and its contents are the inherited blessings and possessions therein. (See John 7:38).


Further Insights:

SYMPTOMS:

(i) Poverty (ii) Sickness (iii) Defeat (iv) Unfruitfulness (v) Stagnation.


CAUSES:

a).Lack of Understanding;

b).Hardness of Heart (unbelief);

c).Ignorance;

d).Unforgiveness;

e). Ingratitude [anger, bitterness and murmuring].


CURE:

1. Development of the spiritual muscles and bones to build enough spiritual strength and energy to push out these blessings into your life and destiny;

How? 

By a Committed Acquaintance with God through; adequate studying, meditating, declaring, assimilating, digesting and focusing on the Word of God (The Holy Bible); with thanksgiving at all time.

“Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.”(Job 22:21).


2. Prayer and Fasting. This is done to elevate your consciousness of the Power and Spirit of God in you [fostering an intimate fellowship with the Holy Spirit]; and also to boost your faith. Doing so will override unbelief, fear and doubt; and also empowers you [spiritually], to fast-track manifestations of the embedded possessions in Christ, visibly into your life and circumstances.


3. Adequate Study and Assimilation of essential Christian books, tapes (CD), video (DVD), YouTube videos, podcasts sermons and relevant materials; also identifying oneself with the congregation of believers (Church), to heighten your knowledge and understanding of God’s Word and principles; [and its appropriate applications].


4. Forgiveness: Forgiving others is one of the major activation codes, to unlock and unleash God’s continuous goodness; and embedded dormant blessings in your spirit man (Recreated New Man in CHRIST), into your flesh (soul and body) and external circumstances [including your household].


INSIGHT: 

The word “FORGIVE” is a hybrid of the words; ‘For and Give’. Mathematically, it is FOR + GIVE = FORGIVE. This simply means to give (reward) good for evil (wrong) done against you.


Understand this: “Whoso rewarded evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house”. (Proverbs 17:13).

The above Scripture could be paraphrased (put differently) in my personal literary translation as, thus: “Whoso rewarded good for evil, good shall not depart from his house”. (Pause and think about this).

 

5. Thanksgiving and Praise (multiplicity of thanks):

It has been proven with indisputable physical evidences, the effect of continual thanks offering and praise to God. ‘Praise is a “Spiritual Laxative” that will purge your spiritual bowel, to release all the blessings and gifts of life contained therein; effortlessly to your entire being and life circumstances.’

In case, you don’t know what a laxative is, please permit me to explain; A Laxative is a medicine, food or drink that helps the bowel to empty freely. The effect of a natural laxative on the physical bowel is also same, when its’ spiritual counterpart (Praise) is being applied, [producing same results - purging].


Proofs of the Effect of Thanks and Praises to God:

i) King Solomon;

“And the King went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar. In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.”        (1 Kings 3:4-5).

We can deduce a very important fact from the above; “the quantity and frequency of dosage [of spiritual laxative - praise] taken, is directly proportional to the quantity and frequency of purging (free flowing and manifestation of blessings).” When King Solomon applied the principle [as stated above], the bowel itself came along side with its contents; [God, the embodiments of all good and perfect gifts, was even purged out - made manifest].


ii) Paul and Silas in prison;

“And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone one’s bands were loosed.”(Acts 16:25-26).

Apostle Paul and Silas sang praises to God while in prison (when afflicted with spiritual constipation), and its effect as a laxative, was evident to all prisoners and guards; sudden purging out of their supernatural deliverance.


iii) King Jehoshaphat;

“…And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten…”( 2 Chronicles 20:17-24).

Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah overcame and triumphed over allied military forces against them with only ‘Thanks and Praises’ as Spiritual Laxative, as a result; their victory and triumph was purged out. It was recorded that none of them (their enemies) escaped.


RECOMMENDATION(S):

The effect of “Thanksgiving and Praise” has been proven in the past, present and will be same in the future. It’s a Constant (a fixed value/parameter that does not vary). So my good friend, are you suffering from Spiritual Constipation? If yes, then use the afore-mentioned prescribed drugs as applicable to your individual case(s). But I [though personal opinion]; strongly recommends Spiritual Laxative (thanks and praises to God) as the most effective, so that you will never toil in order to let out, your inheritances in Christ.

 

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name.”(Psalm 100:4 NRSV).

 

“Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.”(Colossians 1:12 NIV).
